SUNSTONE GOES MOBILE!

As part of our upgrade, we decided it was time to offer a mobile service to our clients. We have been asked more & more "can you record our gig?" or "can you record us at our own rehearsal room?", so now we can!

Our mobile rig has been kept as simple as possible, and for good reason. The rig consists of a Fostex D8-24 8 track hard disk recorder and a set of Behringer pre-amps. The system is fully ADAT compatible and integrates seamlesly with our controll room rig back at base!

We have so far found that for most basic band/live applications, 8 tracks has been sufficient. A normal band session would be mic'd as follows, drums-3 trk's (kick, OH, & snare), guitars-2 trk's, bass-1 trk, vocals- 2 trk's. This captures the live sound of the band very naturally and also keeps the overall cost down as 8 tracks take less time to mix than 16 or 24!

The mobile setup is also very discreet. If you already have a p.a and you mic some of your instruments then we can place the pre-amps between your mics and your p.a (the mobile rig sits under your p.a/desk and is plugged into your inputs, you then plug into channel1 on the pre-amp instead of channel1 on your p.a, easy!)

We also do special rates for showcase nights where there may be more than 1 band performing.
